Jan Sauermann is PhD-student and researcher at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA), Maastricht University. He holds a Diploma in Economics from Mannheim University where he graduated in 2004. Before joining ROA, he worked at the Halle Institute for Economic Research as research associate. Jan is affiliated with the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and the Network Social Innovation (NSI).
Jan's research focuses on labour economics and applied micro-econometrics. He is interested in topics such as the effects of work-related training, learning-on-the-job, incentives, and peer effects in the workplace.
