Jesper van Thor is researcher at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Marktet (ROA), Maastricht University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Economics, obtained at the HEAO in Sittard. After that, he obtained his master’s degree in International Business (Maastricht University). He wrote his master thesis at ROA. Title master thesis: ‘Unemployment duration and successful job search method of recent graduates in the Netherlands: A comparison on race’. During his study he has already worked at ROA as student assistant. He also worked for Yacht as recruiter. The fields of interest are the relationship between ethnicity and job search methods and unemployment duration. The role of flexible work on the labour market. The relationship between distance deterrence and study (location) choice.
