The
Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market
(ROA) is a research institute of the
Maastricht
University School of Business and Economics, and
aims to improve the understanding of the
relationship between education and the labour market.
ROA's research efforts intend to make a significant contribution to
both academic and societal discussions on the effects of knowledge
and skills acquired in education and in other learning situations on
occupational careers, performance within organisations and the development of the economy.

- Competencies and Early Labour Market Careers of Higher Education
Graduates
The HEGESCO
project examines to what extent HE graduates are able to
meet the demands of today’s knowledge economy. It identifies
competencies that are required of HE graduates by employers
and analyzes the extent to which HE provides a solid basis
for developing these competencies (see
